Paint by Number Difficulty Ratings
Welcome to the Paint Plot Art Academy.
Our goal with the Art Academy is to offer helpful information to improve your paint by number and diamond painting experience.
One common question we see is ‘how do you know how difficult a particular painting is?’ If this is something that interests you, please keep reading.
Those of you who paint frequently will know that the difficulty of designs varies from painting to painting. By difficulty, we are referring to the size of the individual cells that need to be painted – the smaller the cells, the more difficult the painting is.
This difficulty guide includes information about:
- Advice on cell sizes and the approximate time a kit can take.
- How to log into your Paint Plot account and download a PDF copy.
- Examples from our community with different ratings.
- How to find Frequently Asked Questions within the Paint Plot Facebook community group.
The most important thing to remember if you’re looking for your first painting design is that you don’t need any previous skills to complete a Paint Plot paint by number kit.
You don’t need to purchase anything additional, everything you need is included in your kit. Our range of accessories are added extras for when you’re ready to take your painting to the next level.
If you are starting out, firstly the advice from our Paint Plot community members is invaluable and make sure you read our FAQ blog to help you along.
Every one of our Paint Plot paint by number kits are rated according to difficulty and this rating is easily visible below the kit on each product page on the website.
Our Paint Plot difficulty ratings are as follows:
- Easy
- Medium
- Hard
- Advanced
Obviously, we would recommend an easier Paint Plot paint by number kit for beginners who aren’t sure if the hobby is for you, however you should be able to complete any difficulty rating. If a medium, hard or advanced kit is the one you want to do, go right ahead.
Our ratings are based on the cell sizes for each kit.
Remember that the aim of the hobby is to unwind so take your time and relax, there’s no hurry. Unless of course, you have a stash of paintings and you can’t wait to move on to the next one!
If you do decide to go with a more advanced paint by number kit, we would suggest that you purchase a magnifying glass and download a copy of the PDF so that you can zoom in on the smaller cells.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PAINT THEM?
The time that it takes to complete a painting can vary for everyone.
If you’d like to get some indication, you can scroll to the reviews at the bottom of any product page on the website. There you will find a ‘time it took’ indicator, which has been completed by previous customers, to let others know how long the painting took to complete.
HOW TO GET A PAINT PLOT PDF COPY AND AN APPROXIMATE TIME FRAME
You will receive an A4 paper copy of your canvas in your kit, which you can refer back to when you want to double check numbers.
We’ve also made electronic copies available online, so you can zoom in on your computer.
Downloading the PDF is an easy process. You log in to the website, go to a page called my orders and they are there for you to download your own copy.
If you are a Paint Plot subscription member, you can choose any design or a brand-new design for your upcoming order and these are hand selected by our team. Given they are personalised within the order process and often brand-new designs, unfortunately it’s not possible to connect the painting to the PDF download, so you need to email support@paintplot.com.au and they will be happy to send you your guide to download.
If you have any difficulties downloading the PDF please feel free to contact our customer service via email support@paintplot.com.au and they will email you a copy of the PDF.
HOW TO FIND FAQ’S WITHIN THE FACEBOOK GROUP
If you haven’t yet, we recommend you join our Paint Plot Australia closed facebook community group. It’s a great place to connect with like-minded craft lovers, showcase your paintings and find tips and tricks.
