How it works
The container and canvas are marked with corresponding numbers.
Paint the container number (14) to the corresponding number (14) on the canvas.
Apply all the paint with the corresponding numbers on the canvas until complete
Once all the paint is applied, your painting will be complete.
- Choose a comfortable chair and surroundings, with plenty of space and light.
- A small container of water and a cloth is required to wash and dry paints between colours.
- Make sure your paintbrush is dry before dipping it into the paint pots.
- Start with the smallest areas, then work your way up to medium then large.
- Paint the whole of one colour first, don’t stop and start.
- Be sure to let the paint dry between colours to avoid any smudging
- There should be no gaps between colours.
- Take a picture of your blank canvas, it helps with small areas that can be painted over by mistake.

Lots of tiny intricate detail / final painting comes out less light / bright as the picture.
I’ve done 6 of these paint by numbers now and this one was the hardest - lots of small details -had to paint using a handheld magnifying glass. The reference sheet (with numbers) was completely unusable- blurry & illegible printing. I ran out of two colours: no. 2 and no. 7. Ended up buying a tube of white paint and mixing more of those two colours. One of the brushes (the broad one) came apart- all the bristles cane out when I dipped it into the paint the first time. Overall, the painting came out darker and less bright than the picture- the water and reflection especially came out very brown and murky and muddy. IMHO I think the No. 11 is “too brown”
Bit of more than I could chew
Loving doing it. But I think I should have started with something easier, lucky I had a magnifying glass with lights so that I could see the numbers, there so small. Its going to take me months to do it, but enjoying the experience and looking forward to seeing the finished product
Spring in Japan
I wasnt a huge fan of the color scheme. The dark browns and greens threw me off what I thought the picture would look like. The thing I did enjoy was the intensity of it. Very small plots which I like.
Super relaxing! Exactly what I needed.
Very pretty, but not great quality of print
The image was beautiful, the paints and brushes were really great to use. Unfortunately the quality of the print was poor. There were so many sections that didn’t have a number assigned to them, or very poorly placed. The printed guide sheet was even worse, it was so faint that it was actually easier to read the numbers off the canvas than the guide sheet. I have done several paint by numbers, and would have given this one a 5 Star if the poor numbering wasn’t present
